Daytime Volunteer

We know just how much our wonderful volunteers can improve a patient's stay here at Addenbrooke's or the Rosie hospital.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have a caring attitude and a commitment to supporting the Trust's values: Together – Safe, Kind, Excellent.
Being a volunteer has proved extremely rewarding for many here at CUH and provides great opportunities to learn new skills and experience in the healthcare setting, as you help improve the care and experience of our patients, their families and support staff.
There are many different ways in which a volunteer can contribute.

As per Home Office guidelines, please be aware that the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular position.
Please note, this role is volunteering.
Volunteer shifts are only available Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
All our volunteer roles help improve the experience of patients, visitors and staff.
Volunteers may act as:
A guide helping patients reach their appointments.
A ward volunteer providing a friendly chat and a listening ear.
A radio volunteer delivering entertainment over the hospital radio.

Job responsibilities
Key duties include supporting patient care, enhancing visitor experience, and contributing to the overall wellbeing of our hospital community.

Person specification (guidance)
Positive attitude and willingness to volunteer, demonstrating an understanding of the Trust Values.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with patients, families, and staff in a supportive manner.
Reliability and commitment to the agreed volunteer schedule.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) ****.
A DBS check will be required to screen for any previous criminal convictions.
