Senior Project Engineer - FIFO 2:1
Site Location: Ballarat, Victoria
Roster: 2:1 (2 weeks on, 1 week off), 12 hours per day shift
Contract Duration: Initial 10 months contract (likely to extend)
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer with strong processing plant experience to join a long-term site-based project in Ballarat, Victoria. This role is well suited to a hands‑on engineer with proven capability delivering work in gold processing plant environments, managing contractors, and driving project outcomes safely and efficiently.
Key Requirements
* Lead and coordinate day‑to‑day project engineering activities within a processing plant environment
* Support project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, and reporting activities
* Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
* Coordinate engineering, construction, and commissioning activities
* Provide technical input into design reviews, constructability assessments, and risk mitigation
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
* Interface effectively with site operations, maintenance, and other project stakeholders
* Assist with project documentation including ITPs, RFIs, progress reports, and handover packages
What you'll need to have
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* 10 – 15 years of experience ideally in Mechanical background and has worked on gold processing plants.
* Demonstrated experience working in processing plants (e.g. gold, copper and lithium)
* Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, contractor management, and site execution
* High level of safety awareness with experience working on live or operational sites
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work 12‑hour shifts on a 2:1 roster in a regional location
* Must be based in or willing to travel to Ballarat, VIC.
