Role Overview
Department of Health is seeking interest from qualified applicants to appoint a Senior Registrar / Fellow within the Trauma Service at Royal Hobart Hospital. The position offers the opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team, broaden clinical skills in a specialist tertiary trauma service, and progress toward consultant practice.
Salary
AU$138,978 – 194,675 per annum (pro rata). Salary range is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025.

Period of Employment
Fixed term, full‐time day work. Working 76 hours per fortnight (+10 hours protected training time per fortnight, pro rata). Commencing 1 February 2027 until 7 February 2028.
Duties
The Senior Registrar is responsible for the day‐to‐day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients, both at the hospital and on the wards. Duties include attending trauma callouts in the Emergency Department, responding to referrals and consults, providing oversight and supervision for junior medical staff, contributing to regular trauma education programmes, and engaging in research and quality‐improvement activities under the support of a full‐time clinical research coordinator.
Essential Requirements
* General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable).
