The Department
Alfred Health People & Culture is responsible for the overall delivery of HR services, including HR Operations, Organisational Development, Safety and Wellbeing, Employee Relations, Recruitment, HR Systems and HR Business Partnering and Advisory Services. The group provides day-to-day and strategic HR advice and services on workforce planning, policy interpretation, legislative compliance relating to industrial agreements, performance management, recruitment, retention initiatives and general HR support for employees and managers.
The Role
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner is a supervisory role within the HR department. This position supports the HR Business Partner (HRBP) team and ensures delivery of effective HR services to various departments and business units. It is the first point of contact for proficient advice, guidance, support and professional expertise in workplace matters for the HRBP team. The role also supports workforce requirements and initiatives, including workforce planning, task delineation, professional development and training, and performance management. Additionally, this role provides high-level support to senior leaders, line managers and staff through multi-faceted HR services, coaching and advisory services, with emphasis on workforce planning, employee development, performance management, workforce diversity, conflict management, workplace investigations, Enterprise Agreement, policy interpretation and compliance to achieve best practice people outcomes.
Essential Skills and Experience
* An applicable tertiary qualification in business or health science.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in an HRBP or similar position in a large and complex environment.
* Proven experience in HR matters including performance management techniques, complaints management, workplace investigations, workforce planning, change management.
* Strong and proven stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision and direction.
Desirable
* HRBP/Generalist HR experience in a large public healthcare provider.
* Previous experience leading a team of HR professionals.
