Overview
JWS are currently seeking casual Cert 10 Welding Supervisors to assist with a Major Shutdown based at Bluewater's Power Station, Collie WA. The shutdown is scheduled to commence in April 2026 and will run for approximately four weeks.
We are looking to engage qualified and experienced Cert 10 Welding Supervisors who are available for short‐term work. The shutdown will include 10.5‐hour day shifts and 12‐hour night shifts.
This position suits a hands-on Welding Supervisor with strong welding and QA experience, who is comfortable working in fast-paced shutdown environments.
Responsibilities
1. Supervise and coordinate all welding activities during power station shutdowns
2. Ensure compliance with AS 1796 (CERT 10), WPS, ITPs, and relevant Australian Standards
3. Oversee weld quality, inspections, traceability, and documentation
4. Coordinate NDT requirements and liaise with third-party inspectors and client reps
5. Review drawings, shutdown scopes, and welding procedures
6. Demonstrated experience supervising welding works on power stations or heavy industrial shutdowns
7. Proven QA / QC experience, including weld documentation, inspection processes, updating and developing work packs
8. Ability to interpret drawings, WPS, and technical documentation
9. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
10. Valid Driver's License
11. Ability to pass a pre-employment medical test
Qualifications
12. Trade Qualifications – Fabrication
13. OHS Construction Induction (White/Blue Card)
14. Confined Space - within the last two years
15. Working at Heights card - within the last two years
16. Previous experience in Welding Supervisor (power stations or heavy industry)
17. Proven QA / QC experience, including weld documentation, inspection processes, updating and developing work packs
18. Ability to interpret drawings, WPS, and technical documentation
