 
        
        Pathfinders is a large community-based organisation providing Supported Accommodation and Homelessness services, Family and Youth Support services, National Aboriginal Birth Certificate program, Client Support Services and Out of Home Care services. Pathfinders’ services are located across the Mid North Coast, New England and North West Regions of NSW. 
Pathfinders’ vision is that all children, young people and their families will have a home and family where they feel they belong, are free from abuse, neglect, discrimination and inequality, and are able to achieve and contribute to their full potential. 
We are currently looking for a Part Time Aboriginal Early Years Program Support Worker to be based in any of the following locations: Tamworth, Gunnedah, Narrabri, Quirindi, Wee Waa or Pilliga for 30 hours per week. 
Role of the AEYP Support Worker 
The AEYP Support Worker will specifically support and work with Aboriginal Families and children aged between 2 and 6 through early intervention work, to give children a good start in life through improved early childhood development, care, education and school readiness. 
The AEYP Support Worker will require knowledge and understanding of the issues that affect Aboriginal communities, societies and cultures in NSW and be willing to advocate on behalf of Aboriginal young people and their families in providing cultural support and services to Aboriginal children, young people and families. The AEYP Support Worker will also be required to build solid relationships with all agencies to support and strengthen families and cultural connections 
Travel is an expectation of this role. 
This position is Level 3 and Pay Point 1 under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Modern Award (“the SCHDSI Award ”)
