Architect
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Data Architect to lead the design, development, and governance of enterprise‐grade data ecosystems. This role will drive data architecture strategy, define modelling standards, and ensure the secure, compliant, and efficient management of clinical and operational data across the successful candidate will bring deep expertise in healthcare data, proven capability in large‐scale data architecture, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
* 8+ years' experience architecting and delivering scalable enterprise data solutions for large, complex organisations.
* 5+ years' experience working within the Australian healthcare sector.
* Demonstrated expertise in modelling clinical or healthcare billing data, with strong competency across conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
* Extensive experience designing and optimising data lakes and large‐scale data warehouses, including Microsoft Fabric OneLake.
* Strong understanding of data migration and engineering patterns, including medallion architecture, and snowflake and star schema designs.
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Azure and the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, including the development of enterprise‐level architecture blueprints.
* Proven experience establishing data governance frameworks, data standards, dictionaries, lifecycle management, and monitoring practices to ensure data accuracy, security, and quality.
* Solid knowledge of metadata management, including cataloguing, lineage, stewardship, cost optimisation, and performance tuning.
* Working knowledge of key healthcare data standards such as HL7 (v2/v3), FHIR, CDA, and SNOMED‐CT.
* Understanding of healthcare privacy and security regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, Australian Privacy Principles) and secure data exchange protocols (OAuth2, SAML, TLS).
Highly Desirable
* Microsoft certifications, including:
o Fabric Data Engineer Associate
o Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
* Strong capability with KQL, DAX, and Power Query.
