Job Summary
The Farm Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in the success of our farm operations. This position reports directly to the Orchard Manager and is responsible for overseeing daily farming activities, ensuring adherence to safety practices, and supporting staff development.
* Key Responsibilities:
o Supervise and train staff and contractors to ensure compliance with operational procedures, WH&S practices, and quality standards.
o Participate in hands-on farming activities, including field work and practical tasks, to maintain efficiency targets and optimal crop yields.
o Deliver regular toolbox talks to staff on various topics related to farm operations, safety, and productivity.
o Monitor irrigation systems, assist with scheduling, and collaborate with the Orchard Manager and irrigation team to optimize water usage.
o Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including irrigation schedules, spray diaries, and other relevant data.
* Farm Operations: The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of farming practices, crop management, and soil conservation. They will be responsible for implementing best practices to ensure sustainable and efficient farming operations.
* Staff Development: As a key member of the management team, the Farm Operations Supervisor will play a critical role in developing and mentoring staff. They will work closely with the Orchard Manager to create training programs, conduct performance evaluations, and provide coaching and feedback to employees.
