The Haematology Research Unit delivers clinical trials for Monash Health Haematology patients, ranging from phase 1 to Phase 4 studies. We have in excess of 80 active clinical trials, and continue to grow in size. We are a dynamic unit and pride ourselves in the quality of care we deliver to our patients.
**About the Role**
The laboratory assistant is a critical position within our unit. They are responsible for providing support to the Haematology Research team. The main responsibilities are the processing, storage and dispatch of laboratory samples associated with clinical trials as well as administrative duties pertaining to the support of staff involved in the coordination of clinical trial patient activity and the conduct of clinical trials. A strong collaboration between the unit, the trial sponsors, and Monash Health is required in planning, coordinating, and implementing trials to ensure the best possible care of trial patients. The role is based at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, Victoria and is a 1 year fixed term full time contract. The clinical trials unit, located at the Monash Health Translation Precinct operated Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 7.00 pm. Flexibility will be required with hours, and will be negotiated accordingly.
**About You**
You have a high level of attention to detail, excellent multitasking, prioritization, and communication skills.. You are motivated with a can-do attitude and strong work ethic and an advanced level of empathy for both fellow colleagues and our patient population. You enjoy working in a busy and fast-paced environment. Experience in a clinical trials laboratory setting is highly preferable, although not mandatory.
