Job Title: Assistant Coordinator
Job Description
The role of the Assistant Coordinator is to assist in coordinating the Outside School Hours Care Program by supervising and performing tasks in accordance with guidelines, practices, and service policies.
This includes supervising and coordinating other education support staff, ensuring routine tasks meet standards, and supporting staff training and development.
The Assistant Coordinator supports maintaining high-quality care, ensuring compliance with Education and Care Services Laws/Regulations and the National Quality Framework, and contributing to program planning for a safe, stimulating environment.
The role includes allocated administrative tasks throughout the week.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Assistant Coordinators must possess strong organizational skills, be able to work effectively in a team, and have excellent communication skills.
Diploma in Community Services (Children's Services), studying to be a teacher, or an ACECQA-listed qualification are required.
Current First Aid/CPR and Working with Children's Check are also necessary.

* Attend Monday to Friday sessions: mornings (6.00am - 9.30am) and afternoons (2.30pm - 6.45pm).
* Support day-to-day operations, including supervision and staff support.
* Manage menu development, food orders, kitchen prep, and cleanliness.
* Direct OSHC staff on daily duties.
* Audit and maintain Lucas LEAP resources regularly.
* Maintain a clean and orderly environment.
* Assist with the use of the Xplor program for managing bookings.
* Support program planning for before school, after school, vacation, and student free days, including taking coordinator responsibilities in absence.
* Assist in planning according to NQF guidelines.
* Contribute to quality improvement plans and policies.
* Liaise with staff, parents, and children to develop engaging activities and events for primary school-aged children.
* Create a welcoming environment for children, staff, and parents.
* Support the use of observations and reflections for planning.
* Assist with onboarding new staff.
* Maintain confidentiality of staff and families.
* Ensure a child-safe environment.
* Collaborate with administration, families, and external agencies on medical and inclusion support plans.
