Conservation Enforcement Officer
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Conservation Enforcement Officers. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the protection and conservation of our region's natural resources.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with the community and provide accurate information and education. They will also have a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, with the ability to enforce these through investigations and other means.
In this role, you will work closely with emergency services and contribute to enforcement programs and operational planning. You will also maintain accurate records and uphold Council policies and procedures.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Detect and deter environmental crimes, including animal management and parking enforcement.
* Respond to community complaints and provide information and education.
* Enforce legislation through investigations, issuing notices, and initiating legal action where required.
* Assist emergency services and contribute to enforcement programs and operational planning.
* Maintain accurate records and uphold Council policies and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
* A current Class C Driver's Licence
* An NSSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
* Proof of Australian residency/citizenship or a valid work visa
* Eligibility for Justice of the Peace appointment
* Animal microchipping certification or the ability to obtain it
* A National Criminal History Check (may be required during recruitment) at Council expense
