Join Our Clinical Trial and Research Team!
Healthscope offers a role for a highly motivated and skilled Clinical Trial Coordinator - Research Governance in our Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) at Newcastle Private Hospital (NPH), on a part-time basis.
This position is central to clinical trial management within the CTU, overseeing the preparation, submission, and management of ethics and regulatory documents for multiple clinical trials.
The ideal candidate will possess strong regulatory and governance knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Attention to detail, proficient computer skills, and the ability to manage a varied workload are essential.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in health sciences, allied health, or significant practical experience in ethics, research governance, and regulation
* Proven experience in clinical research
* Knowledge of national and international research guidelines, including Good Clinical Practice
* Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and solve problems efficiently
* Teamwork skills and stakeholder engagement experience
* Well-organized, efficient, and able to work under pressure
* Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and database experience
* Experience in cancer research or related fields (highly regarded)
* Postgraduate qualifications in clinical trials, medical governance, or related areas
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Research Manager to facilitate study start-up and activation
* Handle study feasibility and communication with sponsors
* Manage legal and contractual aspects, including research agreements and budgets
* Coordinate ethical and governance submissions, liaising with the Research Governance Office
* Maintain regulatory document files and develop SOPs for the CTU
* Assist with research governance reporting and ensure compliance with guidelines
* Provide training and support to CTU staff to improve research activities
