About The Role
The Workforce, Population and Migration Group helps to build South Australia's workforce through population and migration initiatives, and support industry to attract, build and retain the workforce it requires, including through workforce planning and development activities.

The Workforce Capability team plays a critical role in developing necessary workforce capability to increase productivity, participation and knowledge intensive, value-added activity in SA – aligned to the department's Strategic Directions – and contributing to the State's economic growth.

The Senior Manager, Workforce Planning and Analysis will develop and facilitate workforce planning and analysis that are well articulated, align to industry needs, illustrate sound methodology and project governance, effective data collection and reporting and demonstrate best practice principles; deliver advice and recommendations for statewide workforce capability; and solidify a critical and central role in whole-of-economy workforce planning.

The Senior Manager, Workforce Planning and Analysis will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders on data collection, analysis and reporting to identify current workforce challenges and emerging needs for the state's workforce.

Key Competencies
To apply and succeed in the role, you will have:

* Extensive knowledge of strategic workforce planning and analysis practices, including demand and supply modelling and supply pipelines.
* Demonstrated experience in providing responsive, high-quality, accurate data, insights and advice on skills and workforce needs at an organisation, industry, region and statewide level.
* Understanding of government workforce development funding and policies - such as subsidised training, skills projects and initiatives, skilled migration, and graduate programs.
* Proven experience in leading complex and sensitive programs, engagements and events and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders, including managing teams, risk, competing priorities and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.
* Understanding of South Australia's growth sectors, workforce challenges, opportunities and priorities.

Remuneration
Competitive salary $127,859 p.a. plus superannuation

Qualifications

* Essential: Nil
* Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in economics, business or finance related disciplines, or equivalent experience.

Special Conditions

* The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE), 2 year term contract.
* Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) required prior to employment.
