Sydney Cell and Gene Therapy (SCGT) at Westmead Hospital is NSW\'s specialist centre for clinical manufacturing and delivery of advanced cellular therapies. As part of Western Sydney Local Health District, SCGT is at the cutting edge of personalised medicine, supporting multiple clinical trials and producing TGA GMP-compliant cell therapy products for patient treatment.

What you\'ll be doing
As Senior Scientist you will oversee and manage production activities within the cell therapy manufacturing laboratories, ensuring compliance, quality and timely delivery of therapeutic products for patients enrolled in clinical trials and treatment programmes.
In this role you will:
* Manage cleanroom operations, production scheduling and manufacturing compliance across multiple clinical trial projects
* Lead technology transfer, process development and validation for new cell therapy programmes
* Maintain TGA GMP compliance through quality documentation, SOPs, audits and regulatory reporting
* Recruit, train, mentor and develop the cell therapy production team
* Coordinate external service providers for equipment maintenance, material supply and facility operations

Essential Criteria
* Qualification: Science degree in relevant field
Selection Criteria
* Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline such as cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, or biochemistry.
* Demonstrated experience in a regulated laboratory environment with manufacture, processing, quality control, or process development of cell-based products.
* Extensive experience handling blood and cellular therapy products including cell culture techniques.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience performing analytical assays used for cell therapy including flow cytometry.
* High-level understanding of regulatory requirements for cell therapy manufacture and demonstrated experience with external audits.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated with all levels of employees.
* Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision and manage a laboratory team.
* Ability to participate in out-of-hours roster to attend to equipment and manufacturing demands as required.
