Research Platform Fellow/Quantum Engineer for the National Quantum Computing Testbed Facility
This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the Queensland Government's initiative to establish Australia's first open-access quantum computer, the National Quantum Computing Testbed Facility (NQCT).
Position Details
* Full-time, fixed-term Research Platform Academic position for up to 4 years.
* A base salary ranging from $112,572.59 to $133,381.10 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level B)
* Located on the St Lucia campus.
About the Opportunity
The successful candidate will contribute to research design, proposals, and development of the NQCT, providing expertise to end-users and ensuring efficient operation of the facility. They will also maintain records, ensure compliance with ethics, and apply safe design principles.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to research design, proposals, and development of the NQCT.
* Provide expertise to end-users and ensure efficient operation of the facility.
* Maintain records, ensure compliance with ethics, and apply safe design principles.
* Assist in designing complex experiments, set up equipment, and optimize research techniques.
* Draft research proposals, conduct literature reviews, and train users.
* Mentor staff and students, and contribute to professional and community activities.
About You
* You must have a PhD in experimental solid-state quantum computing or a related field, preferably with postdoctoral experience.
* You should have a research profile in circuit QED and superconducting quantum circuits.
* You should possess knowledge in nanofabrication, device control software, and quantum computing hardware.
* You should have experience with dilution refrigerators and infrastructure.
* You should have a track record of publications, funding, and supervising students.
