Biomedical Engineer role at NSW Health / Calvary Mater Newcastle, Department of Radiation Oncology. Permanent Full-Time position.
About the Role
Working as part of a small, dedicated team under the direction of the Senior Biomedical Technician you will provide biomedical engineering maintenance and repair services to advanced radiation therapy apparatus used in the treatment of cancer.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, repair and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment.
* Respond flexibly to maintain clinical services.
* Communicate openly with the medical physics and broader clinical team, equipment suppliers, and service agents.
* Maintain records in accordance with requirements.
What you bring
* Diploma of Electronics & Communications Engineering (or equivalent) or Electronics Trade certificate with extensive practical experience, or 5 years' experience in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of complex electro-mechanical systems.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide clear technical advice to equipment stakeholders.
* Ability and willingness to perform repairs and maintenance to radiation oncology equipment including high-energy x-ray medical linear accelerators and equipment containing radioactive substances. Willingness to undertake necessary training, including overseas training if required.
* Team player with organisational skills including multitasking, prioritising and adapting to rapid change.
