About the role
We are seeking an Asset Intelligence Lead to guide the strategic and technical direction of Logan Water's Asset Intelligence Team. This role oversees the planning, development, implementation, and operation of critical asset intelligence systems, including SCADA, telemetry, historian platforms, advanced analytics, and digital infrastructure to improve the performance and reliability of Logan Water's asset portfolio.
A central focus of this role is embracing innovation and the future of water operations. We are looking for someone who is excited to explore new approaches, technologies, and digital capabilities that can transform the way Council performs operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure. This includes scanning industry trends, testing and evaluating new technologies, and applying emerging tools such as AI, machine learning, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics to drive smarter, faster, and more informed decision-making
Key indicators:
* Lead and optimise Logan Water's asset intelligence ecosystem, including SCADA, historian systems, predictive analytics platforms, instrumentation networks, and telemetry infrastructure.
* Integrate advanced analytics, AI and machine learning, and digital twin technologies into asset intelligence systems to improve operational decision-
* Review and enhance governance frameworks, cybersecurity standards, asset intelligence protocols, and data quality controls.
* Provide expert guidance on the design, development, and delivery of complex asset intelligence and SCADA integrated projects.
* Oversee system performance, reporting, and continuous improvement of asset intelligence technologies.
* Manage consultant and vendor delivery of SCADA and asset intelligence solutions in line with Council and industry standards.
* Ensure asset intelligence systems support regulatory compliance and strategic reporting.
* Champion innovative technologies and best practice models across Logan Water's asset management and operational ecosystem.
You'll possess
* Relevant degree or associate diploma, supported by experience managing and operating complex water and wastewater asset intelligence systems.
* Expert knowledge of SCADA systems, historian applications, telemetry networks, PLCs, RTUs, and related IT/OT environments.
* Strong understanding of cybersecurity, MES/OMS environments, SCADA security, ASM, and alarm management standards.
* Experience designing, integrating, or leading digital transformation initiatives, including AI enabled analytics and advanced asset intelligence technologies.
* High-level communication skills and the ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and build collaborative working relationships.
* Strong analytical and data management capability, with experience interpreting complex telemetry and historian data.
* Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously and lead others.
Requirements
* Ability to meet Logan City Council background check requirements (National Police Check and other role specific checks).
* Current "C" class driver's licence.
