Offer description

The Site Interpreter undertakes interpreted guided tours for the general public, Educational Institutions and tour groups through a world renowned Ediacara Fossil site. The role also includes some site management functions such as, Bookings, accommodation and visitor precinct servicing, and some grounds keeping tasks.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to present complex scientific information in easily understandable way with an artistic flair are essential as part of the role.

A willingness to work school holidays, as well as long weekends is a must.

Contract:

Contract for up to 12 months

Special Conditions:

* Will be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
* South Australian driver accreditation is desirable or a willingness to obtain.
* A current class "C" (unrestricted) driver's licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd. "LR" class drivers licence is preferred.
* A current Remote Area First Aid Certificate or a willingness to obtain one.
* You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia.
* Required to work a roster including weekends and public holidays. Hours of work vary according to the operational needs of the business centre and the incumbent may be required to work at short notice.
* Wearing a company uniform during working hours and/or when representing the department is mandatory.
* Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a National Police Check.
* Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to provide a Department of Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. [DEW will cover the cost of renewal]

Remuneration:

GSE3 $36.38 min - $36.76 max per hour including 25% casual loading in lieu of annual leave and sick leave.
