About The Role
The role is for a casual academic to provide pedagogical support and work closely with the Unit Coordinator (MGMT) to design and provide unit assistance in a large first-year unit that reflects contemporary business communication challenges.
The unit introduces students to foundational ideas about communication, ethics, and the role of culture and Indigenous perspectives in contemporary business settings.
The appointed casual academic will play a key role in shaping student learning experiences by supporting the integration of Indigenous perspectives, critical reflection, and applied learning through real-world contexts into course content and activities.
The position requires the inclusion of First Nations perspectives from a range of global Indigenous contexts, as well as Australia, into the curriculum as part of the Indigenous related teaching development.
The successful candidate would be expected to support the briefing of other tutors in the unit by preparing guides, notes, and clarifications for relevant modules to ensure consistency in delivery across a range of diverse global campuses.
They should be able to provide input on assessments and contribute to the alignment of assessment tasks with Indigenous related teaching materials where appropriate, learning outcomes, and graduate capabilities.
Some Responsibilities & Duties
Support the briefing of other tutors by preparing guides, notes, and clarifications for relevant modules to ensure consistent delivery across global campuses.
Develop lecture content, tutorial activities, or weekly learning materials aligned with unit learning outcomes development with delivery to commence.
Participate as a guest speaker in the unit's lectures and / or tutorials.
Contribute to the inclusion of global First Nations perspectives in unit content.
Identify relevant case studies or readings and collaborate with the Unit Coordinator to ensure culturally inclusive and safe teaching materials.
Ensure learning materials reflect current social and cultural issues, particularly regarding Indigenous engagement and equity in business.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to unit planning, review, and continuous improvement.
Assist with updates to content in response to feedback.
Provide input on assessments and contribute to aligning assessment tasks with Indigenous-related teaching materials, unit learning outcomes, and graduate capabilities.

Casual Salary Payrates
Content development paid at ASOR rates (ASOR2 for full subject coordination or for staff with PhD), with delivery in ASTU rates for tutorial and ASLE1 rates for lectures if required.
