Job Title: Grounds Maintenance & Landscape Officer
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to maintain and improve the presentation, safety, and functionality of airport grounds and infrastructure.
* Responsibilities include mowing, whipper snipping, mulching, weeding, litter collection, and tree care.
* The selected candidate will also apply herbicides and insecticides as required.
* Minor repairs of fencing, roads, signage, pavements, irrigation systems, and other airport facilities will be necessary.
* Airside support involves surface repairs, vegetation control, stockpile management, and assisting with events, storm clean-ups, and emergency response.
* The ideal candidate will assist with terminal maintenance, furniture moves, participation in runway and apron repainting programs, and working alongside external contractors when required.
* Compliance with all safety, security, and airport regulations is essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or horticulture is mandatory.
* Candidates must be able to work effectively both independently and in a team.
* Skilled operators of grounds equipment are preferred.
* The selected individual must be physically fit and comfortable working in all weather conditions.
* Knowledge of WHS practices is essential.
* A valid driver's licence is also required.
Additional Requirements:
* Candidates must be willing and able to obtain Chemical Accreditation.
* An Airside Driver's Licence and First Aid Certificate are also desirable.
* Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and AFP clearance are required.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Certificate in Horticulture, Landscaping, or related field is an advantage.
* Experience in secure or airport environments is preferred.
* MR licence and White Card are also beneficial.
* Irrigation system maintenance experience and knowledge of pest, weed, and vegetation management are valuable assets.
* Familiarity with small engines and machinery is an added advantage.
