About the Role
This advertisement is placed on behalf of our client, a well-established restaurant in Cowes, who is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join their professional kitchen team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for food, creativity, and the ability to deliver high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes in line with the menu and quality standards.
* Oversee food presentation, garnishing, and consistency of service.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
* Develop and test new recipes, incorporating innovation and seasonal produce.
* Cater to special dietary requirements.
* Monitor kitchen operations, regulate cooking equipment, and maintain stock control.
* Assist with menu planning and food cost estimation.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment.
Skills & Experience
* AQF Associate Degree, Certificate III/IV, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery).
* Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience as a Chef.
* Proficiency in cooking methods and use of commercial kitchen equipment.
* Knowledge of classical European and English culinary traditions (or willingness to learn).
* Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
* Flexibility to work full-time across a rotating roster.
