Reporting to the Team Manager Environmental Health, you will provide leadership, strategic direction, and mentorship to a technically skilled and multi-disciplinary team of Environmental Health Officers. Your key responsibility will be to manage the delivery of complex and concurrent environmental health investigations and inspections across the Townsville region. You will coordinate and lead the team's work across areas including food, disaster management, environmental protection, public health, personal appearances, waste and environmentally relevant activities, footpath dining, development approvals, and breaches of state legislation and local laws. Stay abreast of industry trends, legislative updates, and best practices to ensure services remain compliant, responsive, and community focused.

Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of complex and concurrent environmental health investigations and inspections across the Townsville region.
* Coordinate and supervise a multi-disciplinary team of Environmental Health Officers.
* Manage areas including food safety, disaster management, environmental protection, public health, personal appearances, waste and environmentally relevant activities, footpath dining, development approvals, and breaches of legislation and local laws.
* Ensure services are compliant, responsive, and customer-focused by staying current with industry trends and regulatory updates.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health or a closely related discipline are essential.
* Advanced knowledge of Environmental Health legislation, regulatory frameworks, and compliance standards.
* Proven experience in resource planning, prioritisation, and delivering high-quality outcomes in a customer-centric environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare complex reports, procedures, strategies, and to exercise well-developed problem solving, analytical, and investigative skills.
