The Director of Aged and Community Care would ideally be located in the heart of our communities, maybe, the coastal town of Swansea on the pristine east coast, or the historic rich Scottsdale near the bike riding capital Derby on the north-east coast.
Position Purpose
The position of Director of Aged and Community Care will lead the delivery of aged and community care, within the community setting, ensuring the best possible outcomes for May Shaw's clients. Working closely with the operational teams the Director of Aged and Community Care is to lead the direct care team whilst ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and relevant legislation to ultimately provided our clients with the care they need.
The Director of Aged and Community Care has full oversight of the community based aged care services including management of all reporting and documentation, employee training, provision of ongoing management, leadership and support to all staff. This includes working closely with and building positive and effective relationships with key stakeholders, including consumers, families and employees, as well as managing quality improvement activities to achieve specific goals and objectives as they align to the strategic direction of May Shaw.
Role Accountabilities
* Participate in and lead organisational audit processes with the relevant industry bodies as they occur, ensuring that any compliance is met as a matter of priority.
* Provide management and supervision to ensure May Shaw Health Centre Inc. adheres to legislative requirements.
* Consult, network and liaise with relevant agencies and service providers to ensure consumer needs are met in line with objectives and timelines and industry best practice.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the community services program including participating in development of policies, procedures, planning and reviewing of service delivery.
* Supervise, support and be a resource for the Home Care Coordinators, Home Care Administrators, Day Centre Coordinator, and all employees within the programs.
* Create processes that actively engage all stakeholders, in particular all staff in evaluating care and services, and improving upon them to maintain high level industry standards.
* Builds strong partnerships and networks to facilitate genuine person-centred and client focused outcomes. This includes fostering positive relationships with clients, families, and employees.
* Ensures that regular and effective communication is in place, including regular meetings, client and family meetings as required, stakeholder meetings and staff meetings.
* Ensures performance development activities are undertaken as required, including performance management.
* Work with the Human Resources team to identify staffing requirements, participate in recruitment and ongoing identification of training for employees.
* Promote a positive workplace culture that is open, supportive, and responsive to suggestions, comments and complaints from clients, families and staff.
* Responsible for the preparation of mandatory annual financial reporting of Home and Community Programs in conjunction with the finance team.
* Undertake other duties as required at the direction of management executive that are determined to be within the employee's skill level that are consistent with the scope of the position they are employed to undertake.

* Competence in Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn specific business program software platforms.
