About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to play a key role in delivering infrastructure and civil projects across Victoria. As a Project Engineer, you will oversee construction activities on site, ensuring that civil works are delivered safely, to specification, on time, and within budget by coordinating between design, operations, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate subcontractors, plant operators, and site workers.
* Ensure work is built in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
* Conduct quality inspections, site surveys, and testing as needed.
* Manage health, safety, and environmental compliance on site.
* Report on site progress, cost, schedule, and risks to project management.
* Liaise with design engineers to clarify technical details or resolve issues.
* Support commissioning, handover, and close-out activities.
Required Skills, Attributes, and Experience:
• Degree (or diploma) in Civil Engineering, Construction, or similar field of study.
• Previous site-based experience in civil construction.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and plant operations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions on site.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Hands-on and practical approach.
• Strong sense of ownership, accountable for site outcomes.
• Collaborative mindset, able to work with project managers, subcontractors, HSEQ, and design teams.
• Adaptable, comfortable with varying pace and challenges of civil construction.
