Senior Platform Owner - Microwave, DAS, and IBC

The Operational Support Systems Senior Platform Owner (OSS SPO) role sits in the Core Network department of Optus Networks division, leads a team of both internal and vendor professionals, and owns several business critical platforms.
The OSS SPO is responsible for managing the long‐term strategy, budget and architecture of the platforms in their scope. You will also be responsible for life cycle management of the platforms including upgrades, enhancements, and supporting the resolution of any escalated operational issues.
What You'll Do
The role will be responsible for:
* Leading a project delivery team of both Optus team members and contractors
* Platform architecture, strategy, and solution design, including developing 3-year road maps for in-scope platforms and systems
* Ensuring all designs pass endorsements such as OSS Solution Review Forum (SRF) and Networks Architecture Review Board (NARB)
* Platform life cycle management, accountable for projects to deploy, enhance platforms using a range of delivery methods including direct management, turnkey vendor projects, or delivery in partnership with other delivery teams
* Proactively managing security deviations and vulnerabilities
* Working with the Associate Director to address any escalated faults or vendor issues
* Vendor management, including tracking contractual milestones against Capex/Opex, and setting monthly vendor steering meetings, OSS QBRs, and supporting vendor engagement with Director of OSS and Technical Managers
* Procurement management to source and set up new platformsli>
* Financial and resource management, including business case preparation and Annual Operating Plan submissions, Capex Steer Co packs, and spend plan updates
* Governance solution design and implementation
* Maintaining project compliance across OSS design standards and Cyber/Infosec and Data Governance policies.
What You'll Bring
You will be able to demonstrate:
* Sound knowledge of Core Network OSS Technical Architecture and vendor landscape (150+ systems, 20+ Vendors, 50+ contracts across Repair and Maintenance, Capex projects)
* Technical proficiency in telecom EMS/NMS product, and related technologies including RAN IBC/DAS EMS and Transport EMS, like Microwave
* People leadership experience, including direct reports, contractors, and supplier personnel (local and offshore teams)
* Experience driving teams to deliver projects and platform enhancements
* Experience in contract and vendor relationship management, balancing innovative solutions while maintaining risk protocol
* Financial and resource management skills
* Overall understanding of Procurement and Legal processes and best practice, as well as Project delivery, CAB, Cyber/Infosec, and Data Governance
* High level of resilience and ability to successfully operate in an ambiguous, time bound, and transformational environment
