Nepean Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Patient Safety & Quality Manager to partner with the Paediatric, Child and Community Health (PCCH) services in driving excellence in clinical governance, safety, and quality improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in strengthening patient safety culture while supporting clinicians and managers to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
Working as a trusted business partner to PCCH, the Patient Safety & Quality Manager will provide expert advice, leadership, and strategic support across patient safety, clinical risk management, accreditation, and quality improvement initiatives. The role works closely with clinical leaders, service managers, and multidisciplinary teams to identify risks, analyse incidents, and implement sustainable improvements that enhance outcomes for children, young people, and their families. This role also contributes to strategic planning and reporting for safety and quality performance within PCCH. The Patient Safety & Quality Manager will work collaboratively with the wider clinical governance team at Nepean Hospital to ensure alignment with district priorities, regulatory requirements, and best practice frameworks. Building strong relationships with clinicians and operational leaders will be central to the success of this position, ensuring safety and quality are embedded in everyday practice.

What you will bring to the role
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in a health-related field and/or demonstrated experience in a patient safety and quality coordination role.
* Significant and demonstrated relationship building skills with key stakeholders and an ability to inspire managers and clinicians to make positive and strategic use of patient safety and quality data and information.
* Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the provision of PS&Q which contributes to the achievement of strategic objectives.
* Demonstrated experience in promoting a culture of evidence based practice, identifying and initiating quality improvement projects.
* Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
* Experience in coordination and/or participation in accreditation programs and processes at service level.
* Demonstrated skills in decision making with the ability to take initiative and to prioritise and work to deadlines.
* Experience working within a flexible, multi-skilled team environment with advanced interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, ability to represent the organisation and communicate organisational strategy.
