**What do I do in this role?**
Reporting to the Community Services Leader, you will be working to assist with the direct care and support of activities of daily living for Residents within the Community environment and as per their choices and preferences. This Resident - centred direct care is delivered in a kind and respectful manner in line with LHI's Service of Excellence expectations and Aged Care Quality Standards.
Your everyday activities will include monitoring the Residents' well
- being and reporting any changes in addition to managing risk in a way that balances the Residents' right and preferences in regard to their safety and the safety of others, including compliance with manual handling and mobility requirements. Other aspects of care delivery include transport to appointments, personal care assistance, laundry, cleaning tasks and social support, as well as the willingness to work at both LHI sites when required.
Your demonstration of a 'best practice' and holistic approach to the provision of care to Residents of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and the ability to encourage their feedback is also required.
Collaborating in a positive and professional manner with family members, team members within the Community department and with other stakeholders will help to further achieve your success as an LHI Carer.
**What do I need to bring to the role?**
- Certificate 3 in Aged Care
- Minimum of 1 year's working experience in Aged Care
- High motivation and passion to deliver quality care for persons in independent living arrangements
- Ability to work with a flexible and punctual approach in attendance and in all tasks
- Flexible working hours
- Have a good availability to fulfil shifts as required
- Work with a 'customer service' focus
- Be a team player and balancing this with the ability to work autonomously
- Good interpersonal and clear communication skills
- Ability to closely follow processes and directives
- Have the right to work in Australia
