About the Organisation
The Edmund Rice Flexi School (Elizabeth) is a campus of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA). Our school provides an educational and wellbeing service for young people aged 12-21 years. Edmund Rice Flexi School aims to re-engage young people who are looking for a different way of learning. Fundamental to our operation are the principles of Respect, Participation, Honesty, and Safe & Legal. Staff and young people come together on 'common ground' where everyone has a voice in making decisions and establishing working agreements to foster a positive environment where young people can achieve positive educational and wellbeing outcomes.
Edmund Rice Flexi creates an environment where young people are given their voice in a safe setting whilst receiving a high level of wellbeing and educational support to help them achieve outcomes identified in their Learning and Wellbeing Plans. Students can complete their secondary schooling and access a variety of SACE subjects, internal and external VET courses, and vocational training such as White card, First aid Certificate, and other options. Young people also have the opportunity to access a variety of engagement activities including music, health and physical education, art, catering/hospitality, community service and any other areas of interest.
About the Role
The Teacher reports to the Area Principal / Head of Campus. They work collaboratively with all staff and have delegated responsibility to develop and maintain learning and social inclusion responses of the campus. This includes but is not limited to:
* Planning, preparation and delivery of engaging learning and teaching programs for young people in the middle and secondary phase of secondary education, creating flexible, innovative curriculum to engage students.
* Plan and effectively implement class and individual student learning programs that meet all legislative requirements with respect to young people with learning difficulties and disabilities (Disability Discrimination Act, Disability Standards for Education, National Consistent Collection of Data, National Disability Insurance Scheme).
* Build learning programs that reflect the diversity within the classroom and design learning experiences that cater for individuals with specific needs.
* Ensure young people are provided with a learning program that maximises their outcomes (academically, behaviourally and/or socially) through the development of annual Personal Plans for Learning (PPL) for each young person and contribute to the ongoing evaluation of the PPL process.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the Full Learning Cycle's objectives and planning.
* Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive school environment.

About You
* Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
* Experience in teaching and possess strong operational, organisational and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with young people.
* High-level communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in a complex and layered organisational structure.
* Appropriate teaching qualifications at tertiary level and minimum of 5 years' professional experience.
* Ability to diagnose problems, foresee potential issues and devise appropriate responses.
* Ability to lead, work in, and collaborate across teams with integrity and humility.
* Previous experience working with young people disenfranchised from mainstream education is desirable.
* Experience developing innovative curriculum, ability to make adjustments and differentiate.
* Experience developing Individual Learning Plans (ILP) or Personal Plans for Learning (PPL).
* Skills and knowledge in teaching processes, framework and practice.
* Applicants must hold or be able to attain a DHS Working with Children Check and a SAVA clearance through the Archdiocese of Adelaide before commencement as per legislation.
* Local travel (including minivan driving) is a requirement; applicant must hold a current 'C' driver's licence.
* Current First Aid or willingness to obtain.
* Current Responding to Abuse & Neglect Training or willingness to obtain.
