RESORT TOOWOOMBA PTY LTD trading as CURRY RESORT TOOWOOMBA located 160 Margaret Street, Toowoomba, QLD **** are seeking an employee to work full-time, permanent & ongoing as a Chef for the restaurant.
We are a new, busy fine dining restaurant offering lunch and dinner services and serving true Indian cuisine.
Requirements, Responsibilities and Duties are as follows (but not limited to):
Australian work experience in a busy kitchen/restaurant.
Knowledge of Australian and the state of Queensland health and safety regulations.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Experience in menu creation and culinary skills.
Ability to ensure food quality and regulate cooking equipment.
Skills in portioning, plating presentation, adding gravies and garnishes to the dishes.
Knowledge of food storage and special dietary requirements.
Ability to cost estimate and prepare food for catering orders.
Demonstrate cooking techniques and assign cooking duties to kitchen staff.
Ability to discuss and resolve any food complaints efficiently with the kitchen and wait staff.
Show teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow and adjust recipes.
Skills in training junior kitchen staff.
Preparing and cooking food as directed, including dietary requirements.
Menu planning and recipe creation.
Safe and efficient operation of kitchen equipment.
Proper check and maintenance of all kitchen equipment and regular audits of temperature controlled facilities.
Regulating temperatures on ovens, grills and other cooking equipment in the kitchen.
Overseeing and manage kitchen operations.
Maintaining kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
Estimate product requirement and costs for following day and on weekly basis.
Ensure appropriate regulatory licences are up to date (ie Food Safety Supervisor).
Organise and have a clean kitchen at all times, adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
Arrange for the input of invoices for inventory and stock control.
Supervise and assist with rostering for the kitchen staff.
Food storage management.
Recording food temperatures.
Preparing management reports.
Experience: 1-2 years is preferred as Chef
