The Role
Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Manager Major Projects will lead the delivery of Council's most significant infrastructure programs, overseeing planning, design, procurement, construction and close‑out across a diverse portfolio. This position drives excellence in project governance, capital planning, business case development, and reporting, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. With responsibility for a skilled team of project managers and engineers, the role plays a pivotal part in shaping the city's built environment and will support major initiatives such as water network upgrades, community facility enhancements, and regional economic development projects.

About You
You will bring contemporary experience managing multiple concurrent infrastructure projects ideally gained within local government or a similar regional environment. With a strong understanding of legislative, policy and project delivery assurance frameworks your background spans the full project lifecycle, from inception to delivery and acquittal, supported by tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction, architecture, or project management.
Renowned as a confident communicator and relationship‑builder, you thrive in complex stakeholder environments, lead teams with clarity and purpose, and can demonstrate a commitment to quality, accountability, and community‑focused outcomes.
