About The Role
We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our supportive team at SWHC. You will be the welcoming face and voice of Apex Radiology — supporting patients, referrers, and our clinical teams with high‐quality service and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Welcome patients and manage front‐desk responsibilities in a professional and empathetic manner.
* Answer telephone enquiries and respond efficiently and sensitively to patient needs.
* Schedule patient appointments and determine examination requirements.
* Communicate preparation instructions, procedure costs, and billing information clearly to patients.
* Register patients, manage paperwork, and handle billing and EFTPOS transactions.
* Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of reports.
* Perform Medicare and Veterans Affairs claims batching.
* Support other administrative tasks as directed by management.
About You
* Familiarity with patient booking and entry systems preferred but not required (RIS experience highly regarded).
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology would be preferable but not required.
* High level of professionalism, empathy, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Excellent time management, multitasking, and problem‐solving abilities.
* Accuracy in data entry and confident use of Microsoft Office and practice software.
* Cash handling and EFTPOS experience.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Willingness to work across multiple sites if required.
