Aboriginal Children in Aboriginal CareFull-time | 12-Month Fixed Term (0.8 considered)Location: Relocate to Bendigo, VIC

Are you an experienced Child Protection practitioner looking for a tree change and the chance to work in a supportive, community-focused environment?

We are looking for skilled Practitioners, Senior Practitioners, and Team Leads to join our Aboriginal Children in Aboriginal Care team in Bendigo. These roles offer work-life balance, excellent pay, ongoing professional development, and clear pathways for career progression.

Salary and Classification

Practitioner - SCHADS 4: $88,000 - $96,000 per year

Senior Practitioner - SCHADS 5: $97,000 - $106,000 per year

Team Lead - SCHADS 6: $112,000 - $114,000 per year

All roles include salary packaging and 12% superannuation.

About the Roles

The team supports Aboriginal children and families to achieve safety, stability, and positive outcomes. You\'ll work collaboratively with families, carers, and the broader community, applying culturally safe and relational practice while upholding children\'s best interests under the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (Vic).

Whether stepping into a Practitioner, Senior Practitioner, or Team Lead role, you will have the chance to make a real difference while enjoying a balanced, community-focused work environment.

What You\'ll Be Doing

* Managing caseloads and supporting Aboriginal children and families
* Promoting cultural safety and connection to community
* Collaborating with carers, families, and key stakeholders
* Applying risk management and statutory knowledge under the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (Vic)
* Leading, mentoring, and building capability (for Senior Practitioner and Team Lead roles)

About You

Experience in Child Protection or statutory child and family work

Strong skills in risk assessment, case planning, and family engagement

Commitment to culturally safe practice with Aboriginal communities

Interested in a tree change and achieving better work-life balance
