About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Newmont is seeking an experienced Document Controller to join the Sustaining Capital team at Cadia. This is a critical on-site role supporting studies and project delivery by ensuring project documentation is accurately controlled, readily accessible, and compliant across the full project lifecycle. Acting as the central point of truth for project information, you will enable effective decision-making and contribute to the successful delivery of projects.
About The Role
As the Project Document Controller, you will lead the setup and ongoing management of project documentation, supporting projects from initiation through to close-out. Partnering closely with site studies, engineering, project, and construction teams, as well as key departmental stakeholders, external contractors and service providers, you will ensure documentation is accurate, current, and fully traceable within Aconex and supporting systems.
Key Responsibilities Include
Administer the Aconex Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), including access control and security
Manage document control across multiple concurrent studies and projects where scope, staging and priorities evolve through the project lifecycle
Allocate document and drawing numbers in line with company procedures
Set up, manage and report on internal and external documentation packages across the project lifecycle
Process document transmittals and manage workflows between internal teams and external stakeholders
Participate in project kick-off, progress and handover meetings
Monitor and follow up documentation deliverables from studies through to project close-out
Coordinate project documentation handover at completion
Support engineering and project teams with document control guidance
Act as a visible champion of document control standards, workflows and governance
Maintain revision control integrity across Aconex and the primary drawing management system
Contribute to embedding a strong safety culture within the team
The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced project environment where priorities and project requirements may shift frequently. You apply sound judgement while maintaining strict quality, discipline, compliance and traceability of project information.
You Will Bring
Experience using EDMS platforms such as Aconex (highly regarded) or SharePoint
Background in heavy industry – highly regarded
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel for registers and reporting
Strong understanding of document versioning, revision control and metadata standards
Proven ability to work effectively in environments with changing priorities, while maintaining accuracy, compliance and document integrity
Ability to manage high volumes of documentation under tight deadlines
Clear communication skills with the ability to translate complex document status into meaningful insights
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, balancing diplomacy with adherence to standards
High levels of integrity, discretion and professionalism
