About the Role
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for supporting daily finance operations, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting in monthly reporting and compliance. You'll work closely with our Finance Business Partner and contribute to system improvements, automation, and high-quality reporting across the business.
This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, high-integrity environment.
What You’ll Do
* Manage daily accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
* Support month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
* Maintain general ledger records and assist with journal entries as needed.
* Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships.
* Assist with the preparation of BAS, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations.
* Support the Finance team with data entry, account reconciliations, and financial analysis tasks.
* Ensure all financial processes are executed with accuracy, consistency, and compliance to internal controls.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of finance systems and procedures, including use of ERP (Microsoft Dynamics) and Excel-based tools.

What We’re Looking For
* Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role, with proven capabilities in accounts payable, receivable, and financial reporting.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* ERP & Systems Knowledge: Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central) or similar ERP platforms. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Attention to Detail: High-level accuracy in financial processing, data entry, and reconciliation.
* Communication Skills: Clear and professional verbal and written communication, especially in dealing with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
* Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet regular deadlines.
* Team Contribution: Self-motivated and reliable, able to work independently while contributing positively to team outcomes.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across departments and with external partners.
* Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on interpreting financial data and providing insights.
