Advisory and Professional Services Leader • Sydney, Australia
Responsibilities
* Owns end-to-end business performance including orders, revenue, margin, forecasting and utilisation. Develops go-to-market strategies, service offerings, and business development programs to grow the Advisory & Professional Services portfolio, in partnership with field sales, account directors, channel partners, and global business units.
* Actively engages with customer executives and senior stakeholders to translate ambiguous transformation ambitions into actionable strategies, solution architectures, investment models and compelling business cases (ROI, TCO, NPV, IRR).
* Leads qualification, deal shaping and financial modelling for complex, multi-year transformation programs including private cloud, hybrid cloud, data centre modernisation, Kubernetes and cloud-native platforms, high‐performance compute, big data, and artificial intelligence workloads.
* Builds strong strategic partnerships with ecosystem technology leaders (Microsoft, Red Hat, Nvidia, VMware/Broadcom, Nutanix, and others) to co‐develop offerings, pursue joint sales motions, and deliver best‐practice advisory and implementation services.
* Provides direct leadership in the pursuit process – enabling sales teams, supporting RFP responses, contracting and commercial negotiation, risk management, and delivery planning.
* Coaches teams on consultative and financial selling, improves presales coverage, and ensures high‐quality engagement throughout each stage of the sales cycle.
* Responsible for cross‐functional collaboration between sales, PMO, delivery management, technical consulting, offshore/onshore delivery partners, and regional APJ leadership.
* Represents the Advisory & Professional Services function on South Pacific senior leadership forums, contributing to business planning and operating model design.
* Champions talent development, team culture and performance management across geographically distributed teams. Builds advisory and technical capability, supports skill development programs, and nurtures a resilient, customer‐focused, and innovative team environment.
* Leads workshops, presents at customer events, and shapes transformation roadmaps at C‐suite and board level.
* Leads multi‐disciplinary services teams across advisory, presales, project management, and technical delivery; demonstrates ability to inspire, coach, and develop high‐performing individuals distributed across regions or geographies.
* P&L ownership and commercial accountability for professional services, including pipeline management, forecasting, utilisation optimisation, profitability, and margin improvement.
* Proven experience building and growing consulting and professional services practices in enterprise infrastructure, hybrid cloud, and emerging AI domains.
* Deep technical and domain understanding of hybrid cloud architectures, private and sovereign cloud, data centre transformation, high‐performance compute, automation, Kubernetes and cloud‐native platforms, data management, and AI/ML solution patterns.
* Demonstrated track record in strategy development and consultative selling, including shaping complex transformation programs, constructing business cases (ROI, TCO, NPV, IRR), and aligning executive stakeholders around investment decisions.
* Experience managing strategic technology and ecosystem partnerships, ideally including hyperscale cloud providers, platform vendors, and AI solution partners (Microsoft, Red Hat, Nvidia, VMware/Broadcom, Nutanix, and others).
* Capability to lead engagements with senior customer stakeholders, including executive presentations, whiteboarding, strategic advisory workshops, and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
* Strong commercial negotiation skills, including reviewing RFP/RFI responses, contract structuring, terms negotiation, risk identification and mitigation for large professional services engagements.
* Proven delivery governance experience across multi‐stream transformation programs, including project initiation, PMO leadership, milestone‐based delivery models, resource planning, escalation management, service recovery, and customer satisfaction improvement.
* Ability to translate market signals, customer demand, and technology trends into new service offerings, GTM programs, and capability development roadmaps for the organisation.
* Highly collaborative operating style with experience working in matrix environments and across sales, delivery, finance, operations, and global/regional leadership stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Business, Technology, or related discipline highly desirable.
* Recognised experience presenting at industry events, technology panels, customer roundtables, or contributing thought leadership.
* Demonstrated continued professional development in leadership, business management, or advisory disciplines.
