Overview
Safety Advisor – Our client is a leading Australian construction company known for its innovative approach, collaborative culture, and commitment to building a better future. The Queensland division is delivering a landmark $400M health project in the southern suburbs of Brisbane. This is a pivotal role on a high-profile, complex project, joining a team already 12 months into delivery, with approximately 2.5 years remaining. The successful candidate will hit the ground running and work closely with the project team to ensure the highest standards of safety are met and exceeded.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert WHS advice and guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and management.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identify hazards, and implement preventive measures.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective actions.
- Drive a positive safety culture on site through proactive engagement, coaching, and toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant WHS legislation, standards, and company policies.
About You (Qualifications)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar WHS role within the Australian building industry.
- Proven experience on large-scale, complex projects, ideally in health, commercial, or institutional sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships.
- Proactive and collaborative approach to safety management.
- Relevant WHS qualifications (e.g., Diploma of WHS).
