Salary: Teacher, $85,610 - $124,046 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)

Avonvale Education Support Centre caters for approximately 38 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Our specialised facilities are split across two campuses with early intervention and primary school students located at Avonvale Primary School, and secondary students located at Northam Senior High School.
Our whole school planning ensures the quality of our program delivery is comprehensive and current. Our students are provided with individual education plans that cater to their strengths and needs. All our students learn the Western Australian Curriculum (with the necessary adjustments and modifications) which allows them to participate in age-appropriate lessons and activities.
The successful applicant will ideally use explicit teaching strategies and exhibit effective classroom management skills to enhance student learning and wellbeing. The successful applicant should also be flexible, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to professional learning and a high-level of participation in collaborative team planning.
They will plan, program and assess using an integrated curriculum, differentiated to meet individual student needs. The successful applicant will also ideally have highly effective teaching practices, an ability to self-reflect and a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice.
We are seeking an Education Support Teacher who is hardworking and knowledgeable about a range of disabilities and the implementation of strategies to support and enhance individual development in all areas. Teachers in an education support environment positively manage a team of Education Assistants to create a safe and supportive learning environment for students. They should engage with and contribute to the school community and work collaboratively with families, therapists, and outside agencies to improve student outcomes.
