Victorian Operations Manager – Lead a High-Performing Transport Team
State Transport & Warehousing is continuing our strong growth across Victoria and nationally. As we expand, we're seeking a Victorian Operations Manager to lead our day to day transport operations and drive excellence across fleet control, customer service, and our subcontractor driver network.

About the Role
As our Victorian Operations Manager, you will:
Lead, coach, and support a team of Fleet Controllers, Customer Service staff, and Subcontractor Drivers to deliver high quality service every day.
Oversee the end to end coordination of all transport activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and on‑time delivery performance.
Drive accountability, workflow efficiency, and strong communication across the operations floor.
Build a positive, high performance culture focused on teamwork, accuracy, customer care, and continuous improvement.
Strengthen customer relationships through proactive communication, issue resolution, and service excellence.
Partner closely with the senior leadership team to improve processes, implement new systems, and support business growth initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all OH&S and NHVR requirements, promoting a safe, well managed operational environment.
Monitor service levels, fleet utilisation, and KPI performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
What We're Looking For
Proven leadership experience within taxi trucks, transport, or logistics operations.
Strong people‑management capability with a track record of building high performing teams.
Deep understanding of Melbourne metro transport, fleet allocations, and subcontractor driver management.
Previous experience in taxi trucks or general transport is highly valued.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence, coach, and maintain calm under pressure.
A proactive, can do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Knowledge of Hub Systems or other freight management software is advantageous.
A commitment to safety, compliance, and delivering outstanding customer service.
