The challenge is to provide engineering support to a program of work which will develop an integrated instrumentation system for characterisation of structural performance on a composite marine propeller. The results will be used to develop an embedded sensing capability in a composite marine propeller.
The role
You will be responsible for:
* Assisting in the integration of electrical and optical strain measurement instrumentation with legacy analogue load application control systems on a full-scale structural test.
* Contributing to the development and enhancement of COTS FBG sensing instrumentation to meet requirements of the experimental test program.
* Undertaking measurements using different instrumentation systems, collate and analyse the data and report on the findings.
* Assisting in the design and optimisation of the FBG sensing arrays to meet the system requirements.
