Demonstrated knowledge, skills and qualifications in Speech Pathology and language acquisition and be able to develop whole school policies and programs in this area.2. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of communication and language development in children.3. Knowledge and understanding of language disorders and intervention approaches with all students.4. Ability to provide support and intervention for students, working closely with Staff and Parents to manage individual student s language developmental needs.5. Demonstrated ability to liaise and work with other Specialist Staff, both within the school and external support Agencies.6. Proven capability to provide ongoing Professional Learning to Staff around language and literacy development.7. Participate in, and contribute to a collaborative team environment, developing supportive professional working relationships with Staff, Students, Parents and Carers, and providing advice and guidance to all parties involved. Role TheSpeech Therapist is required to provide services as appropriate to Mildura Primary and as directed by the Principal.The quality of programs is the key factor in the overall success of students in the school environment.TheSpeech Therapistat Mildura Primary School will work collaboratively and in a professional manner with the Principal, Teaching and Support Staff, Parents/Caregivers and the wider school community to ensure that all students experience success and are working towards achieving their full potential.Programs and services will include:-Regular review of student progress-Liaising with Staff regarding the progression of student s language acquisition-Liaising with Parents/Caregivers regarding the students education and welfare-Linking personnel with appropriate Agencies, when necessary-Liaise with other multidiscipline Support Personnel Who May Apply Individuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
