We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join a large road network project across the region responsible for planning, design, construction and maintenance of state-controlled infrastructure.
You will provide technical advice to ensure efficient and effective asset management of state-controlled road infrastructure within the Region. This position is based in the Asset Management team with a strong focus on providing technical expertise to support design, construction, and maintenance processes.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
* Conduct assessments of road infrastructure and prepare reports on recommended engineering solutions to particular problems.
* Develop asset management strategies for transport infrastructure that minimise whole of life costs.
* Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of program outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved.
* Determine the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components, and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
* Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
* Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to facilitate the delivery of road projects to a high and consistent standard.
* Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders on all matter relationg to transport infrastructure delivery activities.
* In managing projects, you will have the responsibility to plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff that would include encouraging teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
* Complete tasks as directed by the Principal Engineer (Asset Management)
Mandatory requirements:
A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by
Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
* Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
* Current holder of Class C driver's licence.
* Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
* Provision of own suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
* Criminal History Screening must be undertaken by the successful candidate.
