Job Role Overview
The position of Principal Disciplinary Officer involves undertaking thorough assessments and preparing high-quality documentation in line with legislative requirements to initiate proceedings, evaluate submissions, suggest outcomes, and make determinations.
Main Responsibilities:
* Review evidence briefs and submissions to recommend disciplinary actions.
* Create and review notices to show cause and decisions on taking disciplinary action.
* Provide guidance to legal officers and counsel in appeals to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal and other courts and tribunals, including reviewing section 58 documents, written submissions, and relevant evidence.
* Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including investigators, inspectors, legal officers, counsel, and executive staff.
* Supervise and manage a small team of professionals.
Key Requirements:
* Possess relevant qualifications in law or policy and/or relevant experience in regulatory environments.
* Have a sound understanding of investigation strategies, including rules of evidence and procedural fairness.
* Demonstrate high-level analytical, organisational, and written communication skills.
* Show ability to manage competing priorities and make informed decisions.
