As our Program Manager, Major Gifts, you'll lead the strategy to identify, cultivate and secure transformational gifts from individuals, foundations, Private Ancillary Funds (PAFs) and trusts. You'll establish the pipeline, craft compelling cases for support, set systems and KPIs, and embed best practice stewardship to foster long term partnerships. Reporting to the Director, Fundraising, you'll collaborate across Campaigns, Programs, Finance, Communications and Global Philanthropy as part of a small, high performing team.
What you'll do
* Create the end to end major gifts framework for Australia including strategy, systems, tools, metrics and governance.
* Lead prospect research and qualification, develop tailored cultivation plans and manage a healthy pipeline.
* Craft personalised proposals and make thoughtful, values aligned asks to secure major gifts.
* Deliver meaningful engagement and impact reporting that deepens relationships year after year.
* Partner with program and communications colleagues to align donor opportunities with priority campaigns and outcomes.
* Own reporting on pipeline, results and donor insights; leverage CRM to drive smart decision making.
About you
* 5+ years' experience in major gift fundraising with a track record of securing significant gifts.
* Exceptional communication and relationship building skills; confident with proposal writing and presentations.
* Strong research skills and familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, ROI).
* Strategic, self starter mindset—comfortable establishing new processes and working autonomously.
* Deep affinity with animal welfare and a commitment to Humane World for Animals' mission and values.
* Thrives in a collaborative, fast paced environment and delivers to deadlines.

Location
Hybrid working arrangements available with some days from home and some from Humane World for Animals' office in Avalon, Sydney.
