CKG Search is partnered with a leading national law firm to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate (3+ years' PQE) into a high-performing Melbourne Insurance team.
The role offers exposure to a diverse practice spanning Professional Indemnity, General Liability and broader commercial insurance matters, working closely with experienced partners on complex, high-quality work for major clients.
The Opportunity
This role offers exposure to complex, well-run litigation and advisory work, including advice on
indemnity, liability, quantum and resolution strategy
, as well as the defence of claims against a broad mix of professionals such as:
* Lawyers (solicitors and barristers)
* Engineers and construction professionals
* Accountants and other financial services professionals
* Estate agents
* Medical practitioners
You'll work closely with partners who are
independently recognised as experts
in the insurance market, with strong mentoring and clear development pathways.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing files end-to-end, including deadlines and document control
* Reviewing evidence and preparing advice on indemnity, liability and quantum
* Drafting correspondence and court documents (including statements of evidence)
* Liaising with clients and stakeholders (written and verbal)
* Identifying issues, briefing experts and analysing expert opinion
* Preparing for online processes and appearing in Court as required
* Briefing and working with counsel
* Supporting business development and building client relationships
About You
* 3+ years' post-admission experience
* Insurance experience is welcome but
not essential
* Strong, demonstrable experience in
litigation, construction or regulatory
is highly regarded
* Excellent attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
* A collaborative, team-first approach and confident communication style
