We are seeking a talented individual to join our Transformation team at Mercer. This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager will be accountable for the successful delivery of projects that facilitate risk transformation for Mercer Super, focusing on the implementation of the risk management framework and ensuring that appropriate controls, policies, and compliance measures are established.

This position is crucial to a regulator-mandated risk transformation programme, where the individual will oversee the entire project lifecycle. This role presents a unique opportunity to play a pivotal part in significant risk transformation initiatives while enhancing project management skills in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.

12-month fixed term contract

We will count on you to:

* Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive project plans, ensuring that all tasks, timelines, and resource requirements are clearly defined and communicated to all stakeholders.
* Proactively engage with senior stakeholders to gather requirements, provide timely updates, and address any concerns throughout the project lifecycle. Foster strong relationships to ensure project success and alignment with organisational goals.
* Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery. Collaborate with the project team to develop effective mitigation strategies and contingency plans, ensuring compliance with complex regulatory requirements.
* Deliver regular and detailed status updates on project delivery, highlighting progress, challenges, and next steps to senior management and stakeholders.
* Ensure that all project documentation is maintained accurately and aligns with the established project delivery framework, facilitating transparency and accountability.
* Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering their development and enhancing the overall capability of the project team.

What you need to have:

* At least 5 years as dedicated project manager or 5 years business/ administration analyst working on client projects/fund installations will be considered
* At least 5 years within the superannuation industry: Insurance or banking experience would be considered
* Demonstrable skills of project management & delivery.
* Excellent planning skills.
* Excellent communication (both verbal and written) - documentation, negotiation, organisational and relationship skills
* Proven stakeholder engagement and management skills
* Strong technical understanding of superannuation, including defined benefit plans, pensions and insurance
* Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly MS Project
* Enjoy working closely with others
