**About us**
The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
**About the role**
The Analyst within the Rental Taskforce undertakes a range of data and information analysis tasks and projects, with the objective of producing intelligence outputs to further support CAV's strategic and operational needs. The Analyst will use and draw on intelligence capabilities to identify and analyse emerging threats, opportunities, patterns, and trends, as well as root causes and possible compliance and enforcement approaches, within the Renting Taskforce.
**Key accountabilities**
- Undertake data and information analysis to produce intelligence outputs that inform compliance decision making, and operational planning within the function of the Renting Taskforce.
- Contribute to environmental scanning efforts and produce risk-based analyses and reports on current and emerging renting issues.
- Undertakes the production of operational and tactical intelligence to support Renting Taskforce initiated compliance and enforcement activities and outcomes.
- Contribute to positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to promote information sharing and support the continuous improvement of intelligence products.
**About you**
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Skills in performing a range of intelligence related duties, including preparing intelligence reports, contributing to environmental scanning efforts, and providing intelligence support to investigations staff.
- Understanding of, and skills in, information and data analysis (including IT based sources).
**Mandatory requirements**
- Relevant experience in an intelligence or regulatory setting would be an advantage.
- Tertiary qualifications intelligence would be desirable but not mandatory.
