Quality Manager

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Quality Manager to join a growing organisation. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will require someone who has strong leadership and who is both analytical and organised with the ability to multi-task and drive cultural change within a fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for taking complete ownership of the Quality Management System including compliance with food safety, customer complaints and new product stewardship.
Your responsibilities include:
* Improve, manage and maintain the current Quality Management System (HACCP program).
* Lead the site to achieve FSSC 2200 food safety standards certification.
* Conduct supplier, internal GMP, customer audits, and management reviews as required
* Represent the site at customer supply reviews.
* Coordinate all customer complaints, analysis, measurement, reporting and response.
* Identify non-conformances and ensure all issues are contained and the appropriate corrective action processes are implemented.
* Undertaking root cause analysis and corrective action identification and implementation.
* Take the lead and drive the business towards customer-focused quality to a new level of performance whilst working collaboratively with all departments
* Identify process improvement opportunities for the business including driving quality improvement projects within manufacturing to improve process performance, quality and reduce waste.
* Oversee development of Quality Systems Manuals including SOPs, Forms, Records, SPLs, Employee Training Needs etc.
* Oversee quality training of staff including shop floor personnel
* Develop Quality metrics and coordinate quality data collection and analyses to support all business units
* Coordination of the quality elements relating to New Product Development (NPD) process
The Successful Applicant will have:
* Degree qualification in an appropriate Manufacturing / Engineering Discipline
* 10 years' minimum experience working within a Food, Plastics or Packaging manufacturing environment of which 5 years minimum in a quality leadership role
* Experience in managing a Quality Management System is essential (with FSSC 2200, BRC and/or HACCP being highly regarded)
* Strong Root Cause Analysis skillset in dealing with customer complaints, and management of CAPA
* Good team player with an open mindset and capable of making informed decisions
* Good understanding of continuous improvement principles and methodology
* Self-motivated and organised with the ability to multi-task
* Excellent computer skills, particularly Excel
