Overview

The role is ongoing and located in Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane. Other capital city office locations may be considered. The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking an experienced project manager to plan, manage and deliver key project outcomes within the Energy & Resources (E&R) Program in accordance with the Bureau Delivery Model.

The Project Manager, E&R, will work under the direction of the Projects Team Lead to deliver projects that create impact and value for the energy and resources sectors. The projects will involve working with colleagues across several Programs of the Bureau, including coordinating technical input from the Data and Digital Group, Research and operational forecasting. The Project Manager will tailor project management methodologies under the guidance of the Bureau\'s Enterprise Portfolio Management Office.


Role responsibilities

* Plan and drive the delivery of projects, managing all delivery aspects including financial and resource forecasts, and support team performance.
* Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders to manage risks and issues and deliver project outcomes.
* Maintain project artefacts following prescribed standards and contribute to the improvement of project management governance standards, processes and templates.
* Ensure the various elements of the Bureau\'s Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion are applied in the work area.
* Comply with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your conduct.


Mandatory qualifications

A degree or diploma from an Australian educational institution, or a comparable overseas qualification appropriate to the duties; OR other comparable qualifications appropriate to the duties.
