The Role
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting accurate and timely financial reporting, decision-making, and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and annual financial statements.
* Delivering accurate and timely month-end and year-end reporting, including accruals, variance analysis, and ledger close activities.
* Producing financial reports and analysis for senior management and other internal and external stakeholders.
* Assisting with taxation compliance, including the preparation of BAS and FBT returns.
* Building and maintaining effective relationships across the organisation.
The Ideal Person
* At least two years' experience in accounting or audit (Big 4, consulting, or federal government).
* Expertise in financial systems such as TechOne, SAP, CBMS, TM1, or similar.
* A solid understanding of financial reporting, month-end processes, and journals, with a sound grasp of accounting standards.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance (highly desirable)

Salary / Rate
* $80K - $110K + Super
* 6-to-12-month contract with possibility of extension and view to permanency; or
* S26 transfer for existing APS employees
