PSG is working exclusively with a high performing national organisation based in Fremantle to recruit a Payroll Officer who will support the smooth and accurate delivery of payroll services for a large and diverse workforce. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a junior payroll professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional service across the organisation.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring every employee is paid correctly, on time, and in full compliance with legislation, awards, and company policies. Working closely with HR, Finance, and Operations, you'll contribute to the ongoing improvement of payroll processes, data accuracy, and overall employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with end‑to‑end payroll processing across fortnightly and monthly cycles.
* Process timesheets, variations, commencements, terminations, leave, and allowances with accuracy and confidentiality.
* Complete monthly reporting and reconciliation tasks, supporting Finance with required documentation.
* Balance and reconcile payroll outputs to ensure accurate payments.
* Interpret and apply awards, Enterprise Agreements, and relevant legislation.
* Provide timely and customer‑focused responses to payroll queries.
* Conduct regular audits of leave, entitlements, and accruals to maintain data integrity.
* Liaise with superannuation and salary packaging providers to ensure compliance.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across payroll systems and processes.
* Provide general administrative and reporting support as required.
Stakeholder & Customer Service
* Build strong working relationships with internal departments.
* Support managers and employees with accurate payroll information.
* Contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

About You
Essential
* Proven experience processing payroll in a medium to large organisation.
* High accuracy, strong attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality.
* Proficiency with payroll systems and intermediate Excel skills.
